Aakarshi Kashyap is an Indian badminton player. In 2019, she won a gold medal at the South Asian Games held in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal.

Aakarshi Kashyap was born on Friday, 24 August 2001 (age 21 years; as of 2022) in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She did her schooling at Delhi Public School, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.
She then attended Seth RCS Arts & Commerce College (formerly Durg University), Durg, Chhattisgarh. She did her graduation in arts. At the age of 8, she developed an interest in badminton and started playing the game. After watching her talent, her father decided to provide her with professional training in badminton. In 2009, she joined Ravi Shankar Stadium, Durg, and did her training under her coach Sanjay Mishra.

Aakarshi’s father, Sanjeev Kashyap, is a dermatologist. Her mother’s name is Amita Kashyap. She has a younger brother named Shreyash Kashyap.
Career
While she was in school, she participated in various inter-school badminton competitions. On 24 August 2014, she participated in the All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Sivakasi, Tamilnadu, and won her first gold. At the 25th Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament (2016), she won twin crowns in U-17 and U-19 girl’s singles. She then won a bronze medal at the Asia U-15 and U-17 junior championships held in Kudus, Indonesia. She went on to win U-17 and U-19 matches in the 42nd Junior National Badminton Championship, Guwahati. As of 2022, one of her best matches was in January 2018 opposite Gayathri Gopichand. The match continued for 63 minutes and was held in Bengaluru. She has participated in many badminton tournaments, like Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament (2019), Kenya International (2020), Uber Cup (2022), Asian Games (2022), and Commonwealth Games (2022).
