Chalaki Chanti aka Vinay Mohan Sharma was born on Tuesday, 29 July 1986 (age 36 years; as of 2022) in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. His zodiac sign is Leo.

He enrolled himself in Pragathi Maha Vidyalaya Degree & PG College, Hyderabad, Telangana, to pursue a B.Com degree. However, he left it midway due to financial constraints. Later, he completed his graduation and also did a Master of Arts.

In 2022, while Chalaki Chanti was inside the house of Bigg Boss Telugu 6, he shared that his father had left him when he was too young. His mother died when he was nine years old. He has two brothers, and one of his brothers’ names is Jammalamadaka Ravi Kiran.

Wife & Children

On 23 March 2016, he got engaged to a girl named Suvastala/Shwetha, and on 24 April 2016, the couple got married. In 2018, Chanti was blessed with a daughter named Dhanyatha.

Career

Chalaki started his career as a customer executive at Tata Telecommunications Services in Hyderabad, Telangana. He has also worked as a part-time mimicry artist at Hussain Sagar Tourism Boat Rides. Later, he worked as a manager in a guest house. He then started working as an RJ at Radio Mirchi and hosted the radio show ‘Chanti Bank.’

Film

In 2009, he made his acting debut with the Telugu film ‘Jallu’ in which he played a supporting role.

Chanti has appeared in many Telugu films such as ‘Dil Unna Raju’ (2016), ‘Sita Ramanka Bahaghara Kali Jugare’ (2017), ‘Love States’ (2017), and ‘Raahu’ (2020).

Television

In 2013, he was spotted by the Telugu film producer Shyam Prasad Reddy in the films who asked him to perform in the Telugu TV comedy show ‘Jabardasth’ which aired on ETV Telugu. He agreed to it, and participated in the show with his team named ‘Chalaki Chanti & Team.’ He gained immense popularity with the show.

He then performed in many popular TV comedy shows like ‘Connexion’ (2015), ‘Pataas’ (2015), and ‘Sudheer Gaadi Intlo Deyyam’ (2019). In 2022, he participated in the reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss Telugu 6’ hosted by the Indian actor Nagarjuna Akkineni.

Controversy

Quit a TV Show Thrice

Chanti came into the limelight with his TV comedy show ‘Jabardasth,’ however, he left the show three times. In an interview, when a reporter asked him the reasons behind it. He said,

My name did not come due to Jabardast. I came to the Jabardasth show where I made films. I went out to the Jabardasth show three times. If someone goes out, they will not be taken back into the show. This is their rule. But they respected me. Because I have never spoken wrong about anyone. No matter what..whatever goes wrong..they ask right away. Everyone knows this. Once I said that I will take a gap of three months. I felt a headache after doing it continuously, so I took rest. The second time I went with my personal problems. For the third time, 27 days of shooting were in the US schedule. I don’t have the level to talk about anyone.”

He also shared that once he had a major fight with the team of the show as they were paying him less. He had a heated argument with the makers, and then he decided to quit the show.

• In 2016, he made a Facebook post on which one of the fans of the Indian actor Prabhas started abusing Chanti in the comment section. When the fan went out of control, Chanti filed a complaint against him at Yellandu Police Station, Yellandu, Telangana.

• He has met with severe accidents twice. Firstly, in 2018, while he was travelling in his car, on the National Highway-44 at Balanagar, Mahbubnagar, Telanganahis, his car was hit by another car. However, he did not suffer any injuries in the accident. Again, on 18 June 2019, he met with an accident while he was on his way back to Hyderabad, his car rammed into a truck on the National Highway 64 at Komarabanda village, Kodad district, Telangana. In the accident, he suffered many injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Kodad for treatment.
