Ananya Nagalla was born as Anusha Nagalla on Saturday, 1 August 1987 (age 35 years; as of 2022) in Sathupalli, Andhra Pradesh (now in Telangana). Her zodiac sign is Leo. She grew up in Khammam, Telangana.

After completing her schooling at a school in Sathupalli, Ananya, along with her family, moved to Hyderabad to pursue further studies. She earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from Raja Mahendra College of Engineering in Ibrahimpatnam, Telangana. After pursuing a law degree, she joined an acting school in Manikonda, Hyderabad, Telangana.

Career

Infosys

In March 2014, Ananya joined Infosys as a test analyst and was later promoted to the designation of senior software engineer at Infosys’ Public Service department. Concurrently, she chose to study law. While working at Infosys, she got an opportunity to appear in a short film, marking her first foray into acting. As her passion for acting grew, Ananya decided to further hone her skills by enrolling in an acting school located in Manikonda, Hyderabad.

Short Film 

Ananya Nagalla made her acting debut with the Telugu-language short film ‘Shaadi’ in 2017. She played the role of ‘Shanti’ in the short film.

Film

Ananya Nagalla made her debut in the Telugu film industry, also known as Tollywood, with the film ‘Mallesham’ in 2019. She appeared as ‘Padma’ in the film.

In 2021, she appeared as ‘Divya Nayak’ in the action legal drama film ‘Vakeel Saab,’ which is the remake of the 2016 Hindi-language film ‘Pink.’

Ananya appeared in many other films including ‘Play Back’ (2021), ‘Maestro’ (2021), ‘Urvasivo Rakshasivo’ (2022), and ‘Shaakuntalam’ (2023).

During an interview, she revealed that she took a month off from her job to audition for the part multiple times. The director, Raj Rachakonda, finally chose her after noticing a considerable improvement in her acting skills. Despite her parents’ initial hesitation about her career change, they did not actively discourage her from pursuing her dreams.
