She then joined the management department of the theatre group named Evam. While working there, she developed an interest in acting. After completing a few theatre acting courses in India and US, she started performing in various theatre plays like Damayanthi.

Sportswoman 

While she was studying in school, she started playing cricket. She was also a part of India’s B national cricket team. She played cricket at the national level. She has also played a series against the West Indies. She used to be a right-hand batsman and right-arm medium fast bowler before she quit playing cricket. Lakshmi then started her training in Ultimate Frisbee. She has been participating in various Ultimate Frisbee competitions for a few years.

Once, while she was selling tickets for a theatre play of Evam Theatre group, the Indian director Magizh Thirumeni offered her the role of Prashanthi (supporting role) in the 2010 Tamil film ‘Mundhinam Paartheney.’

She took a leave from her job at the theatre group where she was working. She auditioned for a few other acting projects and due to her hectic schedule, she quit her job at theatre. Some of her other Tamil films are ‘Sutta Kadhai’ (2013), ‘Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka’ (2015), ‘Kalam’ (2016), ‘Odu Raja Odu’ (2018), and ‘Soppana Sundari’ (2023).

Telugu

In 2013, she made her Telugu film debut with the film ‘Gouravam’ in which she played the role of Saravanan. The film was also released in Tamil language.

In 2016, she acted in the Telugu film ‘Malupu.’

Malayalam

She made her Malayalam film debut with the 2014 film ‘Angels’ as Zaina.

Some of her other Malayalam films are ‘Salt Mango Tree’ (2015) and ‘Cold Case’ (2021).
