Vasanth Ravi is an Indian actor and doctor. He mainly works in Tamil films. In 2018, he gained immense popularity with his role as Prabhunath in the Tamil film ‘Taramani.’

Vasanth Kumar Ravi was born on Thursday, 1 January 1981 (age 42 years; as of 2023) in Chennai. His zodiac sign is Capricorn.
He did his schooling at DMI St John’s International Residential School and A.M.M. Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. While he was pursuing MBBS at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, he developed an interest in acting. However, his family was against his decision. One of his friends Gopi encouraged him to make his career in acting, and while he was doing his MBBS internship, he applied for Anupam Kher’s Acting School in Mumbai. In 2010, he got selected there and did a diploma course in acting from there. Later, he did an acting course at Mindscreen Film Institute, Chennai. In 2011, he did Masters in Healthcare Management at Alliance Manchester Business School, Manchester, England.

Facts/Trivia
- After finishing his internship, he did an acting course at Anupam Kher’s Acting School in Mumbai. After completing his course, he started auditioning for various acting projects. He then met the Indian filmmaker Rajiv Menon, who asked him to join his institute for an acting course, as a team from the Indian theatre group Koothu-P-Pattarai was teaching the course there. Vasanth agreed to it. In an interview, he said that he wanted to become an actor, but his family wanted him to pursue masters, so he told them he would do healthcare management in Manchester, UK. During the time he was in the UK, his post-study visa was cancelled, so he had to come back and work. While he was working in India, the Indian film director Ram approached him for a film.
