Mayur Vakani is an Indian television actor and a sculptor. He is known for playing the role of “Sundarlal” brother of Daya Jethalal Gada in the SAB TV’s comedy show “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”

He attended Ahmedabad’s Kameshwar High School and went to C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad to pursue his graduation. Mayur holds an M.A. degree in Indian culture, a diploma in sculpture, and a diploma in drama. Being born to a theatre artist father, Mayur was inclined towards acting from a very young age. He started doing theatre when he was just 6 years old.

On 10 February 2002, Mayur Vakani got married to Hemali Vakani. The couple has a son, Tathaya Vakani, and a daughter, Hasthi Vakani.

Career
Mayur started his acting career by doing a number of commercial plays. He, then, auditioned for various shows and played small characters in several TV shows. In 2006, he starred in the Gujarati romantic action film “Ek Var Piyu Ne Malva Aavje.” Subsequently, he bagged the role of “Sunderlal” in Sony TV’s serial “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”

In addition to acting, he is also pursuing his profession as a Sculptor.

- Mayur has also carved out PM Modi‘s statue wearing the suit which was auctioned for ₹4.31 crores to Surat-based businessman Laljhibai Patel. According to him, it took him and his friend, Anand Tike to make the statue look realistic.

- In 2023, Mayur, along with his team, crafted the largest Asiatic lion pride sculpture at Ambardi Safari Park, Khodiyar Dam, Dhari, Gujarat. The sculpture was installed by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL).
