He completed his schooling at St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh, Delhi. He pursued Economics honours at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, New Delhi. During his school days, Ankit had a keen interest in hosting events. His parents and teachers encouraged him, and he often read the news at school. When he was in college, he was into drama and played a key role in establishing the drama society at his college. Before starting acting, he worked as a trainer at the credit card company American Express. He used to work the night shift there and go to college in the morning.

Host

He began his career as a host with events like Mr and Ms Elan’s contest, Neurocon (2012), the Lohri celebration at the US Club, the Pune Cultural Festival, and the Race2 press conference. Additionally, he used to host weddings and musical functions.

Ankit made his debut with the film Club 60 as Iqbal in 2013. In 2023, he acted in the film “Do Ajnabee” (2023).

He has also been a part of a short film titled “Mistaken Beauty,” focusing on Nakwa Pratha in Bihar.

In 2011, he started his TV career on DD National in a show called Sammaan Ek Adhikaar, where he played an anti-hero character.

Soon after, he was part of the show Kal To Hai Apna. In the same year, he appeared in Bhagonwali-Baante Apni Taqdeer on Zee TV, playing the role of Abhigyan. Following that, he took on the role of Arjun in Mata Ki Chowki on Sahara One and played Ayush, the youngest son of Leela Parekh (Apara Mehta), in Hamari Saas Leela on Colors TV.

In 2010, he played the role of Gaurav in the show Hum on DD National, starring alongside Mona Vasu. In 2012, he was part of the TV show Haar Jeet on Imagine TV, where he played the character Abhigyan. In 2013, Ankit appeared in the TV show Beta Hi Chahiye, where he played the role of Madhav on Big Magic alongside Garima Tiwari. The show was the first daily soap opera on BIG Magic by Reliance Entertainment. After “Beta Hi Chahiye,” Ankit played the role of Karan Khanna in the TV show “Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera” on StarPlus. In the series, he portrayed the romantic interest of Veera, played by Digangana Suryavanshi.

Ankit appeared as Lieutenant Colonel Kanishka Mehta in the fifth episode of Love by Chance, which was broadcast on Bindass. In November 2014, Bathla joined the Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai show produced by Red Dot Productions on Big Magic, playing the character Krishna. In March 2015, Bathla appeared in an episode of the Red Dot Productions show Halla Bol on Bindass. He was seen in a mythological TV show titled “Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman” on Sony Entertainment Television, which began on 4 May 2015. He played the role of Dhruv Pandey on the Colors TV show “Thapki Pyar Ki” from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, he left the show because he didn’t want to play the role of a father.

Ankit has experience in Indonesian television as well. In 2017, he was part of an Indonesian series called “Cinta Di Pangkuan Himalaya” on antv. His well-known Hindi show ‘Thapki Pyar Ki,’ originally aired on Colors TV, was dubbed in Indonesian and shown there. He used to travel to Indonesia to meet his fans. In an interview, he mentioned that in the beginning, he encountered difficulties due to the language barrier. In the interview, he further added,

At first the language was difficult, so we used to speak in English and they would be dubbed in Indonesian, but eventually, I learned the language. I think it’s quite an interesting language and very good to learn.”

In 2018, he played the role of Akshay Khanna in the TV show “Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji” on StarPlus. On 17 March 2018, he starred in the web series “Love, Lust, and Confusion” on VIU India, featuring Tara Alisha Berry. In 2019, he played the role of Arjun in the mythological show “Paramavatar Shri Krishna” on &TV.

In 2020, he was in the TV show “Naagin 4” on Colors TV, playing the roles of Rajat, and in “Maddam Sir” as Kabir. In 2022, he appeared as Armaan Agrima in the StarPlus show “Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey.” As of 2023, he is acting as Yash Garg in the show “Kundali Milan” on the ShemarooMe OTT platform.

Apart from acting, he manages his own business named Grandiose Events and Entertainment, specializing in event management. In an interview, he talked about this and said,

One is my passion, for which I left behind a well-paid job in Delhi and ran headfirst into the entertainment industry. The other is my company, my baby, Grandiose Events and Entertainment, which I’ve seen grow and flourish every single day over the past five years.”
