Career

Renuka Singh started her political career as a member of the Ramanuj Nagar District Panchayat and was later elected to the Janpad Panchayat in 1999. She was appointed as the President of Ramanuj Nagar Mandal by the BJP in 2000, and in 2002, she became the President of the Social Welfare Board.

Renuka Singh was first elected as an MLA from the Ramanuj Nagar Assembly in the Surguja division in 2003. She was re-elected as an MLA from the Premnagar constituency in 2008. During her tenure, she served as the Minister of State with independent charge and also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Surguja Development Authority. In the 2013 Assembly election, Renuka Singh lost to senior Congress leader Khelsai Singh. However, in the 2019 general election, she contested against Khelsai Singh again and won by a margin of 1,57,873 votes. She was appointed as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs on 30 May 2019, serving the position until 7 December 2023.

In the 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election, Renuka Singh contested from the Bharatpur-Sonhat Assembly constituency and won for the third time.
