Controversy
Breaching parliament security
Lalit Mohan Jha was arrested after causing a well-planned intrusion into the Lok Sabha. The incident occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack and it involved six individuals, with four of them being charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for alleged terrorism. Two individuals named Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D jumped into the Lok Sabha during the zero hour from the general public gallery. They released yellow smoke from the canisters and shouted slogans before they were tackled by the MPs and security personnel. On the other hand, other two individuals named Anmol Dhanraj Shinde and Neelam Devi released yellow smoke from the canisters and shouted slogans outside the parliament. Lalit Mohan Jha is said to be the mastermind behind the incident who was making videos of the entire scene and left the premises and went to Rajasthan soon after. It was allegedly said that the purpose of doing this was to enact revolutionary Bhagat Singh’s action of throwing bombs inside the Central Assembly during British rule in India. After a few days of the incident, Lalit Jha came to the police station himself and surrendered. A police official was quoted saying that
Lalit Mohan Jha came to the police station on his own. He is being interrogated.”
