Vinay Tevathia was born on Monday, 5 July 1999 (age 24 years; as of 2023) in Kair, Najafgarh, Delhi, India. His zodiac sign is Cancer. He started playing Kabaddi at an early age. In 8th standard, Vinay used to go to a local stadium for cricket practice. He practised alongside others, and senior players from the town coached him.

Career
After Vinay improved in kabaddi, he joined Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana. He became a key player of the university’s kabaddi team, participating in tournaments nationwide. In the All India Inter-University Kabaddi Championship 2019-20 in Mangalore, he was the first-choice raider, contributing significantly with 54 raid points to lead his team to victory. He emerged as the top scorer in the tournament.
Pro Kabaddi League
Vinay was part of the New Young Player program in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). In an interview, while talking about the time when he was selected by the PKL team Haryana Steelers, he said,
When I got selected for PKL, I was playing junior nationals and I was more focused on my studies. In the trials, I performed well and got the chance to join the training camp and eventually the NYP program. Within two months, the Steelers had absorbed me.”
In 2019, he joined Haryana Steelers through this program for Rs 7.26 lakh at the PKL season 7 auction. Making his debut against Puneri Paltan on 22 July 2019, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, he played in all 23 matches that season. In his debut season, Vinay scored 125 raid points, ranking among the top 15 raiders alongside prominent names like Pawan Sehrawat, Pardeep Narwal, Siddharth Desai, and Deepak Niwas Hooda. After the Pro Kabaddi 2019, Vinay holds six Super raids, three Super 10s, and four tackle points.
For PKL season 8, he was retained by the Haryana Steelers for Rs 25 lakhs. In the season 8, he played 15 matches in which he earned 51 raid points out of 96 raids. In 2022, he was bought again by Haryana Steelers for Rs 25 lakhs in season 9 of PKL. In the tournament, he played 15 matches and executed a total of 53 raids, earning 33 raid points. For PKL season 10, he was retained by the Haryana Steelers in 2023.
