Career
Dharmani has worked as a secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. Later, he was selected as the vice president of the Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress and also served as the AICC secretary. He worked as a Convener of the Technical Cell National Student Union of India (NSUI). In 2007, he was elected to the State Legislative Assembly from the Ghumarwin constituency after which he became a member of the Estimates & Human Development Committees. In 2012, he was re-elected to the State Legislative Assembly from the same constituency after which he was appointed Chief Parliamentary Secretary. He had given his resignation for the Chief Parliamentary Secretary post in 2013 but later withdrew his resignation. Thereafter in 2014, he resigned from the same post. BJP candidate Rajinder Garg defeated him in the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha elections in 2017. In 2022, he was re-elected to the State Legislative Assembly from the same constituency and was nominated as the Chairman of the Human Development Committee and a member of the Public Accounts & e-Governance-cum-General Purposes Committees.
In 2023, he was chosen as the Cabinet Minister in the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
He was appointed as Minister of Technical Education and Minister of Vocational and Industrial Training of Himachal Pradesh in 2023.
Social Activism
He is the founder of the charitable society named “Samvedna Charitable Society” in Himachal Pradesh. The society provides education for poor students and helps widow and their children.
