Career
In 2017, Pawar began playing kabaddi professionally after joining the corporate team Mahindra & Mahindra, which takes part in a number of state-level kabaddi tournaments. After a year of playing for them, he impressed the scouts with his ability to raid. At the 2018 PKL auction, he was selected by the Jaipur Pink Panthers for 6.6 lakhs.
In 2018, he made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 in which he finished as his team’s second-highest scorer with a total of 75 points in 17 games. During that season, he also recorded two Super Raids and five Super 10s. In 2019, during the seventh PKL season, he was retained by the Jaipur Pink Panthers and scored 21 points in 14 games. Ajinkya Pawar was the top performer for Maharashtra in the Senior National Kabaddi Championship in 2021. In seven games, he scored 48 points, which contributed to his team’s bronze medal, and he was awarded the Best Raider award for his performance.
At the 2021 PKL auction, he was bought by the Tamil Thalaivas for rupees 19.5 lakhs. He scored 114 points in 18 games in the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
In 2022, he was retained by the Tamil Thalaivas to play in the ninth season of the Pro Kabaddi League for rupees 33 lakh in which he scored 141 points in 22 matches. In 2023, he took charge as the vice-captain of the Tamil Thalaivas in the tenth season of the Pro Kabaddi League. In the tenth season, he accomplished four Super raids and eight Super 10s.
