Aiden Kyle Markram was born on Tuesday, 4 October 1994 (age 29 years; as of 2023) in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. His zodiac sign is Libra. He grew up in Pretoria, where he did all his junior schooling and attended Cornwall Hill College (CHC) for high school. In 2010, he left Cornwall Hill College and moved to Pretoria Boys High School, where he matriculated in 2012.

Career
School/Junior Cricket
In 2007, Aiden played for the Northern U13 Standard Bank side. He never played for U17 or U19 (Coke Week or Cubs Week). After an excellent 2012 year with Pretoria Boys High School, Aiden joined the Tuks Cricket Academy in 2013 and was given the opportunity to captain the Tuks 2 Premier League side.
Domestic/Franchise Cricket
On 9 October 2014, Aiden Markram made his First Class debut for Northerns cricket team against South Western Districts and was later included in the Northerns cricket team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. In the 2016 Bolton Cricket League, Markram was a club professional for Walkden.
In 2018, he played for Paarl Rocks in the first edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament. In 2019, Markram was Hampshire County Cricket Club’s overseas player for the first part of the season. Markram helped the Titans win in the final of the 2018–19 Momentum One Day Cup, scoring 127 runs. He played for the Paarl Rocks in the 2019 edition of the Mzansi Super League tournament.
IPL
On 11 September 2021, Punjab Kings signed him for the second phase of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him at the 2022 IPL auctions. In the 2023 season of the IPL, Markram became the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad. On 4 March 2024, he was replaced by Pat Cummins.
Under 19 World Cup
Aiden Markram was captain of the South African team that won the Under-19 World Cup in the UAE in 2014; Markram was the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

Captaincy
In August 2017, Markram became captain of the South Africa A cricket team for their two four-day matches against India A. In February 2018, Markram became captain of South Africa’s ODI team after Faf du Plessis had to skip the last five ODIs and the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against India due to a finger injury. At the age of 23 years 123 days, Markram became the youngest South African skipper in ODIs after Graeme Smith.
