Patsy Ramsey was an American beauty pageant winner who won the Miss West Virginia Pageant at age 20 in 1977 who was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Nedra Ellen Ann and Donald Ray Paugh, an engineer and manager at Union Carbide. Patsy Ramsey, the mother of JonBenét, was thrust into the spotlight following her daughter’s was murdered under mysterious circumstances and was the focus of intense media scrutiny for the following years. Her daughter found dead in her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado, on December 26, 1996. How Patsy Ramsey’s Daughter Died?

On the morning of Christmas Day 1996, JonBenét disappeared. Her body was found in the basement of her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. A ransom note was found at the foot of the stairs where Patsy reported that she found a lengthy note claiming that she had been kidnapped, demanding $118,000 in return.

JonBenét’s body was found in an isolated area of the Ramseys’ basement seven hours after Patsy contacted authorities. Patsy and her husband are at the center of the investigation of the homicide of JonBenét. Boulder law enforcement officials declared that Patsy and her husband are primary suspect and they may have been involved in the killing.

After that, the couple spent the next ten years denying the allegations against them by insisting that their daughter had been murdered by an intruder. John Ramsey and his late wife Patsy Ramsey were cleared by the Boulder District Attorney of any wrongdoing in the death of their daughter nearly 12 years after her death.

The decision was made based on DNA evidence collected from JonBenét’s clothing, which belonged to an unidentified male. There was no such DNA analysis at the time of the killing. Modern “touch DNA” suggests that a male of Hispanic origin. But, the case remains unsolved till date that who was the real murderer?

At the age of 36, Patsy Ramsey was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and experienced a relapse after nine years in remission in 2002. On June 24, 2006, Patsy Ramsey died of ovarian cancer at the age of 49. During the last moments of her life, her husband was by her side at her father’s house. JonBenét Ramsey is buried in St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.
