Lucie Blackman was a British woman who worked as a hostess in Tokyo. Lucie Blackman’s body was found on February 9, 2001 and buried in a shallow grave under a bathtub in a seaside cave at Miura, Kanagawa, about 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of Tokyo and a few hundred meters from Obara’s apartment.
Her head was shaved and sealed in concrete while her body was dismembered into 10 parts and placed in plastic bags. The corpse was too rotten to provide any clues as to what killed the person. The accusation against Obara states that he drugged a drink, raped, and ultimately murdered Blackman in a Zushi apartment. Obara has maintained his innocence, claiming the drugs were voluntarily self-administered.
