Ed Speleers is an English actor and producer. It was in 2006 that Speleers was cast as the lead in 20th Century Fox’s screen adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s bestseller Eragon, which was the actor’s first professional role. He has been nominated for both the Saturn Awards, as Best Young Actor, and the British Academy Film Awards, for a short film he co-produced. He starred as Jamie in Andy de Emmony’s comedy horror film Love Bite, in 2012. He played the role of Slean in ITV’s epic fantasy drama television series from, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, in 2016. He was a producer on Barnaby Blackburn’s short film Wale, in 2017. Who Is Ed Speleers?
During his childhood, Ed Speleers was born at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester, West Sussex, England. Speleers is of Belgian descent. His parents divorced when Speleers was three years old, and his mother lived in Spain while his father resided in London.
In addition to acting, Speleers has also written a play, which has been performed at Eastbourne College, in Sussex, where he attended school, which he attended while still in high school. It was extraordinary controversial when Speleers, in Retribution, dealt with the subject of paedophilia in education and was met with stunned reactions.
