She started dating Rohan (son of her father’s friend) when she was in class 12. The couple dated for a few years, and later, they broke up as they were not able to manage a long-distance relationship. She then met ‘Indian Idol 3’ contestant Parleen Gill in Pune army cantonment through common friends. They became friends and soon started dating each other, and after dating for a few years, the couple tied the knot on 21 February 2016 (Sunday) in a gurudwara. In an interview, Parleen Gill said,
I proposed in a filmy style with a bouquet and went on my knees while singing.”

Their marriage did not last long, and later, the couple got divorced. After almost four years of her breakup with Rohan, they again met in a school reunion party. They became friends again and fell for each other. The duo has been dating each other for a long time, and Aakriti often posts pictures with Rohan on her social media accounts. Rohan is working in the Indian Merchant Navy.

Career
After completing her post-graduation, she started working in an advertising agency. She has also worked as a part-time graphic designer and a freelance photographer. Later, she started part-time blogging, and her blogs became very popular. She then started working as a full-time blogger, and in 2014, she started her fashion blog ‘La Chica Loca.’ Her blog website got immense popularity and many popular brands approached her to promote their products. She worked as a fashion ambassador for the jewellery brand, Ziveg. After gaining popularity as a blogger, she started her YouTube channel ‘Aakriti Rana.’
