John Crotty Biography
John Crotty an American former professional basketball player. He is well know as a A 6’1″ point guard from the University of Virginia, Crotty got undrafted but played in 11 NBA seasons from 1992 until 2003. He as well holds Virginia’s records for career assists with 683 and assists in a season with 214 (1989–90).
He also scored 1,646 points and recorded 12 double-doubles in points and assists during his Virginia career. He was a third-team All-ACC selection in 1990 and 1991. He as well had a first-team All-ACC Tournament choice in 1991 and a second-team All-ACC Tournament selection in 1990. He also earned honorable mention All-America honors from The Associated Press and The Sporting News in 1990.

He joined the HEAT broadcast team during the 2004-05 season, making his debut on the radio with the HEAT’s January 1st contest against the Charlotte Bobcats. From 2005-11, he also joined FOX Sports Sun as a studio analyst for HEAT postseason games.
As of 2011-12 season through the 2017-18 season, John took an expanded role with FOX Sports Sun and served as a studio analyst for both regular season and postseason action in addition to continuing as the team’s radio analyst for home games.
During his 11-year NBA career, John played for seven different teams before retiring after the 2002-03 season. In addition to his stint with the HEAT, Crotty played for Utah, Cleveland, Portland, Seattle, Detroit, and Denver.
