- In an interview, she talked about her acting journey. She said,
I don’t have any regrets because it is my own journey. I own up to all the mistakes I have made, all the lessons I have learnt and all the experiences I have had. I didn’t have an easy journey. It was a huge task to start working at the age of 10 and being the sole earning member of the family, and at the same time, making my profession my passion. But, I had my eyes on the goal and I knew that one day I would make it to the big screen. When I first started working, I knew this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I also come from a family where I have a single parent, so life wasn’t easy. It hit me way before then it should have, but it also made me the person I am today. Yes, I missed out on the formative school and college days of my life, but I think everything happened for a reason.”
She continued,
Initially, there are a lot of preconceived notions for television actors because according to them, TV stars do a lot of overacting. But, it’s not overacting because actors are performing according to the demands of the script and the medium. There was a time when I was doing TV and I used to audition for a lot of films. I was scrutinised and looked down upon just because I was working for TV. However, times are changing now and the lines are blurring. We have filmmakers like Mahesh who just see the potential in an actor and the work that they do. And that’s how it should be because we are often judged by the medium we work for.”
