Divyang Thakkar is an Indian theatre artist, actor, writer, and director, who mainly works in Gujarati films. He made his debut as a director-writer with the 
Hindi film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ (2022).

Divyang Thakkar was born on Saturday, 26 January 1985 (age 37 years; as of 2022) in Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat. He was brought up in Mumbai. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. After pursuing engineering, he did a course in acting at a film, communication, and creative arts institute named Whistling Woods International in Mumbai.

Career

He started his career as a theatre artist and has performed in various popular Gujarati theatre plays. In 2011, he debuted as an actor in the Hindi short film ‘Kalapaani’ in which he played a small role.

He debuted as an actor in Gujarati films with ‘Kevi Rite Jaish’ (2012) in which he played the role of Harish Bachubhai Patel.

In the same year, he played the role of Aamir Maqvi in the English language Indian film ‘Chanakya Speaks’ (2012).

Facts/Trivia

  • In an interview, he shared the fact that how he developed an interest in acting. He said,

    I was only four years old then, and I had goosebumps watching seasoned actors on the stage. I wanted to be on the stage and act. And then, I debuted on stage at the age of 17 with professional theatre!”

  • In an interview, he talked about his hobbies. He said,

    I love photography, and I am getting better at it. Besides, I am a big film buff. I am also a keen observer and watch people very closely while I am travelling.”

  • During his struggling days, he used to work as an actor during the day and did night shifts at a call centre.
  • During an interview, he shared that the veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah was his role model. He said,

    Watching Naseeruddin Shah, who is my role model, is awe-inspiring. He is just so natural in front of the camera. Also, during Kevi Rite Jaish, I learnt a lot from Anang Desai and Tom Alter. Acting is a two-way process and it’s important to make your fellow actors feel comfortable. And these people do it really well.”
