Career
Adarsh Singh started shooting at a very young age. He has participated and won many domestic and international shooting championships. In 2018, Adarsh made his international debut in the 10 m air pistol men’s event and 25 m rapid fire pistol men’s event at the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Sydney, where he won a bronze and a silver, respectively. In 2019, he earned two gold and a silver at the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Suhl, Germany. In 2023, Adarsh Singh represented India at the 19th Asian Games (2022) held in Hangzhou, China. He won a bronze medal for shooting in the men’s 25 m rapid-fire pistol team event along with his teammates Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer Sidhu.
The Indian men’s trio finished in third place with 1718 points, while China earned the gold medal with 1765 points, and South Korea drew silver with 1734 points.

Facts/Trivia
- Initially, Adarsh had a keen interest in playing Cricket and Badminton. Due to his childhood ailments, he couldn’t pursue a physically tough sport and, therefore, he chose shooting. In an interview, Adarsh discussed his difficult journey and how his elder sister inspired him to pursue shooting. He said,
It’s been a tough journey for me since my birth. The lower back injury never allowed me to pursue my passion in cricket or badminton. As I started growing older, I found out that I couldn’t play physically tough sports. So I chose shooting. It helped that my elder sister Riya Singh – also a national-level shooter was pursuing shooting and she introduced me to the sport. I honed my skills at the Faridabad Model School shooting range and soon I developed a deep interest.”
- Adarsh Singh is a left-hander in a sports like shooting which is dominated by right-handers.
- After experiencing a couple of bad matches in 2019, Adarsh faced a sudden exit from the junior and senior Indian squads. To gear up his skills in shooting, he moved to Pune, where he trained under Ronak Pandit.
