The Last Kingdom is a historical-fiction novel series by Bernard Cornwell, which has been adapted into a television series by the same name. “Seven Kings Must Die” is the thirteenth book in the series, released in the UK in 2019 and in the US in 2020.
The book is set in the late 9th century in England, during the reign of King Alfred the Great, and follows the story of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a warrior and a former slave who fights for his country and seeks to reclaim his ancestral home.
