Ana started off her career as a television reporter/anchor in Texas before joining the telenovela Mundo de Juguete. She was th founding co-host of Despierta América back in 1997.

On May 3, 2002, she worked as master of ceremonies for a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the East Room, which was presided over by President George W. Bush and as well attended by First Lady Laura Bush. Shemade was making her first trip to the White House.

Payless ShoeSource picked her and Star Jones to serve as the spokeswomen for its South America marketing campaign back in 2002. On December 13, 2005, Ana along with Ral De Molina announced the nominations for the upcoming 2006 Premio Lo Nuestro awards show.
