Facts/Trivia
- On 17 March 2023, he entered the South Indian film industry with the Kannada film “Kabzaa,” later released in Hindi as “Underworld Ka Kabzaa.” The movie was showcased in both Hindi and the four South Indian languages. In an interview, he talked about entering the South Indian industry and said,
I always think that regional films are more rooted and have more original content. Currently, my company (Anand Pandit Motion Pictures) is focusing on a lot of regional content. We have many Marathi and Gujarati films. Then we thought entering the south market would be good because they are thorough professionals. That is what my experience has been. We made Kabzaa in Kannada and it will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The budget is Rs 90 to 100 crore.”
- At his 60th birthday party, Shah Rukh Khan attended the party and talked about Anand. He mentioned,
He is also my spiritual guru. He understands vastu, so when one of my films doesn’t do well, I call him over to change things up in my house. I say, ‘Sir, meri pichli waali picture chali nahi, kuch kar do.’ And he suggests moving a mirror around. But fortunately, my films have been working.”
- In an interview, he discussed what he looks for before investing in the films. In the interview, he said,
I view every project from an audience’s point of view and so stories that say something new matter to me. As a producer, I don’t want to repeat the cliche that ‘content is king’ but it truly is. Only a compelling story, well-etched characters, and creative execution can make the audience remember a film in the glut of content that we have today. As someone who loves big-screen entertainment, I also enjoy making visual extravaganzas but ensure that the production values and grandeur enhance rather than replace strong narratives. Whether it’s a building or a film or a series, if the foundation is weak, then it is bound to crash. So I am willing to invest my time and resources in any project where the story is solid and can lend itself to an unforgettable cinematic experience.
