Anirudh was born on 28 October 1985 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Since childhood, he wanted to become an actor, but, as there was no scope of acting at his hometown, he chose to become a pilot. After not satisfying with his pilot job, he pursued his career in acting. He struggled almost five years to make his acting debut.

Career
Initially, he started his career as a commercial pilot, but, in 2012, he left his pilot job to make his career in acting. Anirudh received training in acting from some prestigious institutes like Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai, National School of Drama in New Delhi, and The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City. At that time, he also started doing street theatre in Banaras. In 2015, he worked as an executive producer for the film, Parched. He also produced the film, Te3n (2016).
Anirudh Tanwar got his first role of Kabir Mathur in 2018 in the film, Rajma Chawal, opposite Rishi Kapoor. The film was released on Netflix.
