Anuradha Iyengar developed an interest in dancing at the age of 8. Soon, her parents enrolled her in Bharatanatyam classes. She also started experimenting with other dance styles. Anuradha Iyengar lost both her parents in 2009 when she was 18 years old and had to take care of herself and her younger sister financially.

In 2015, she earned a Bharatanatyam degree at the Nrityangan Academy of Fine Arts, Mumbai. Meanwhile, she also started working as a freelance choreographer to earn a livelihood and also nurtured a dream of participating in Dance India Dance (DID), a popular dance reality show that airs on Zee TV.

Career

Anuradha participated as a contestant in the 5th season of the dance reality show Dance India Dance and joined the team Mudasar Ki Mandali. She gained recognition after her performance on the song ‘Ghani Bawri’ from the film Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) earned huge views on social media.

Thereafter, she appeared as a choreographer on the dance reality show Super Dancer in 2019 on Sony Entertainment Television and mentored Jayshree.

She then participated as a choreographer on the dance show Nach Baliye 9 in 2019. During the show, all five choreographers, including Anuradha, initially boycotted the show due to a controversy; however, later returned after persuasion from the judges.

In 2020, Anuradha mentored Paramdeep Singh, one of the finalists, on the dance reality show India’s Best Dancer, which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
