Slapping a producer
On 1 July 2016, during the shoot of the Hindi TV show Kaala Teeka, he asked for a makeup accessory from the makeup team who did not have the item and could not arrange it as the shops were closed at that time, hence he could not get the item and refused to shoot. He got angry and started to abuse the production team including the 55-year-old production head, Rajendra Upadhyay. He later slapped Rajendra following which he was banned for three months from the shooting.
A few days later, he apologised to Rajendra and other persons after which the Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) lifted his ban. Bhupinder later said that he did not slap anyone and things were blown out of proportion; however, he was happy that the ban was lifted.
Accused of Murder
On 3 December 2023, Bhupinder Singh got into a fight with 60-year-old Gurdeep Singh, the owner of the neighbouring agricultural farm in his village, over an Eucalyptus tree. Allegedly, Bhupinder wanted to cut the tree and sell it, but Gurdeep argued that the tree belonged to him, and Bhupinder could not cut it. Bhupinder got angry over the incident and shot at Gurdeep, his sons, 25-year-old Amreek and 23-year-old Govind, and his daughter, Sukhvinder Kaur.
While Gurdeep and Amreek suffered some minor injuries on their bodies, Govind Singh got severely injured and died hours later.
Jeet Singh, brother of Gurdeep Singh, later lodged an FIR against Bhupinder and his three aides named Gyan Singh, Jeevan Singh, and Gurjat Singh at Badhapur Police Station in Bijnor after which they were arrested and put in jail. It was later revealed that the revolver used by Bhupinder was registered in his name in Kalagarh, Uttarakhand.
