Controversy

Walked out of The Kapil Sharma Show

In 2017, Chandan along with the members of The Kapil Sharma Show went to Australia to perform a comedy show. Before the beginning of the show, Chandan had some arguments with Kapil Sharma following which he didn’t perform in the show. It was reported that while returning from Australia, Kapil, who was in a drunk state, abused Chandan Prabhakar, and had an ugly fight with Sunil Grover. When Sunil Grover tried to solve the issue between them, Kapil assaulted Sunil verbally and physically. Due to the incident, Chandan left the show. In an interview, on being asked about his tiff with Chandan, Kapil said,

I wanted to meet him and apologise. My mistake was that he is my friend and I didn’t even hear his side of the story and just hurled abuses at him. I finally met him the day we were supposed to fly back to India, and I saw him one hour before the check-in. I got even more furious. I hurled five more abuses at him, and he gave it back to me.

After three months, Chandan resumed the shoot for The Kapil Sharma Show, and in an interview, when he was asked about the reason to rejoin the show, he said,

See every action has an equal and opposite reaction. We are like family; I have spent half of my life with Kapil. If I make it a big issue, saying Mujhe zindagi mein tere saath kaam nahi karna then it’s not right. It’s OK if I reacted then, but I can’t stretch it for life. In a family, two brothers fight but that does not mean that they leave each other forever,”
