Chris Messina spent his childhood in Northport, New York. He attended Northport High School and majored in theater. After only one semester at Marymount Manhattan College, he decided not to continue his education there and dropped out.
After dropping out from College, Messina moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. He began taking acting classes and auditioning for various roles. Even after facing initial rejections, Messina kept going and finally landed his breakthrough role in the TV series “Six Feet Under.”
