I discovered veganism in the early days of the Internet, and I was emotionally overwhelmed by the ethics of it”
- After Daniel read a book by a dentist, he was persuaded that animal foods were necessary for a healthy human diet. He abandoned veganism. However, he was already a speaker at vegan events, which became a problem for him later as he would go on the stage to speak about problems related to the vegan diet. This soon got him to be kicked out of the vegan community.
- After he left veganism, he started foraging and was mentored by Arthur Haines, a botanist who runs the primitive-living-focused Delta Institute of Natural History in Canton, Maine. He eventually started his ‘ReWild Yourself Podcasts,’ and began interviewing experts in the field, while exploring the hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Later, he learned how to hunt, after he realized he wanted to do that earnestly.
