Deveshi Sahgal is an Indian singer and songwriter. She is popular for singing the unplugged version of the song “Dariyaa” from the film Manmarziyaan (2018). She specializes in Sufi and Hindustani classical music.
Wiki/Biography
Deveshi Sahgal was born in Delhi. At the age of 4, her mother enrolled her to learn Indian Classical Music under the guidance of Gurinder Kaur; she trained under Gurinder Kaur for 10 years. From an early age, Deveshi had an interest in painting, she studied Sculptors at Delhi College of Arts and then did a diploma in sculptor at London’s Chelsea College of Art.

Her father’s name is Rajesh Sahgal, who owns a stud farm in Delhi and is a Polo enthusiast. Deveshi has a younger brother, Gaurav Sahgal, who is a professional Polo player

Indie Music
Deveshi is an independent artist. She has released multiple music albums and singles, which she uploads on her YouTube channel. Some of her famous works include Once Upon a Dream, Hollows, Fields of Hope, and Time Keeper.
Bollywood
Deveshi lent her voice to the unplugged version of the song “Dariyaa” from the film Manmarziyaan (2018). She was contacted by Amit Trivedi for this song after he came across her music on Instagram. She got recognition in Bollywood after this song, and she later received contracts from Zoya Akhtar’s label Tiger Baby.

Deveshi Sahgal lent her voice to the Coke Studio Bharat song “Das Main Ki Pyaar Vichon Khatteya” (2023) with Kanwar Grewal and Amira Gill.
Live Shows
Deveshi performs every year at Jashn-e-Rekhta, the world’s largest Urdu language festival. Since 2014, she has also been performing at Jahan-e-Khusrau organised by Muzaffar Ali, whom she considers her mentor.

In 2019, she was nominated for Upcoming Female Vocalist at the Mirchi Music Awards.
