Edward Feil is a a professional filmmaker who collaborated on several documentaries, including ‘The Inner World of Aphasia’ (1968) which was placed on the United States National Film Preservation Board’s film registry in 2015. He is best recognized as the second husband of Naomi Feil who was an American gerontologist who developed validation therapy.
Before marrying with Edward Feil, she married Warren J. Rubin, in 1956 after she completed her graduation from Columbia University School. Their marriage ended in divorce.
After that, she relocated to Cleveland and went back to the Montefiore Home, but now she worked there as a professional staff member. In 1963, she wed Edward Feil, who passed away in 2021.
Naomi Feil was born on July 22, 1932, in Munich to Jewish parents. Her father, Julius Weil became director of the Montefiore Home for the Aged in Cleveland, and her mother, Helen (Kahn) Weil, oversaw the social services division of the home after the family fled Nazi Germany when she was five years old.

In 2015, she relocated to Eugene, Oregon to reside on their son Edward’s farm. There, she provided full-time home nursing care, validating therapy, painting classes and piano lessons for Mr. Feil.
