Eric Vlasic is the brother of Alex Vlasic an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Eric is the eldest of all the siblings and participated in the Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey program.

He serves as a guide to young players and not playing professionally like his brother, Eric’s passion for hockey who was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round, 43rd overall, in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Eric Vlasic was born in 1997, in Wilmette, Illinois to parents Tara and John, and grew up alongside his brother Alex and sister Emma Vlasic who is also an American ice hockey forward, currently playing for the Connecticut Whale in the PHF.

He is of Yugoslavian descent; his grandfather immigrated to Montreal. His siblings are also involved in hockey; Alex plays for the Chicago Blackhawks. His cousin Marc-Édouard plays professional hockey for the San Jose Sharks. Eric shares his passion for hockey and stated,

“I just love skating on the ice and meeting new people every season. It’s great exercise, and it’s fascinating. I really enjoy it.”
