Faraaz Khan’s father, Yusuf Khan (born as Yousuff Abousher), was a Bollywood actor who is best known for playing the role of Zebisko in the movie Amar Akbar Anthony. His brother’s name is Fahed Abousher, and his sister’s name is Fadhya Abousher.

Career
Film
In 1996, Faraaz Khan made his Bollywood debut with the movie Fareb in which he played the role of Dr. Rohan Verma.
In 1997, he appeared in the movie Prithvi as Vinod Kumar. In 1998, he starred in the movie Mehndi as Niranjan Chaudhary in which he shared the screen with Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji.
Thereafter, in 1998, he appeared in the hindi film “Love Story 98.” In 1999, he landed another prominent role in the movie Dulhan Banoo Main Teri as Deepak Rai.
Later, he appeared in the films Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya (2001), and Bazaar: Market of Love, Lust and Desire. His last film was Chand Bujh Gaya (2005) in which he played the role of Adarsh.
Television
In 1997, Faraaz Khan made his television debut with the show One Plus One. From 2002 to 2003, he played the role of Ajay in the show Achanak 37 Saal Baad.
Thereafter, in 2004, he played the role of Singar in a few episodes of Ssshhhh…Koi Hai. Later, he appeared in various television series like Raat Hone Ko Hai (2004), Suno… Harr Dil Kuchh Kehtaa Hai (2006), Neeli Aankhen (2008), etc.
Death
Since 2019, Faraaz Khan had been suffering from an acute chest infection. On 8th October 2020, after a video consultation with his doctor, he was admitted in the Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru as the coughing had escalated. While the ambulance was on its way, Faraaz suddenly started shaking uncontrollably and suffered a seizure. After he was admitted to the emergency ward, his brother discovered that Faraaz had suffered three consecutive seizures as the herpes infection from his chest had spread to his brain. Thereafter, Faraaz’s family started a fundraiser for Faraaz’s treatment. In his plea for financial support, Fahed Abousher wrote that his brother, Faraaz Khan, had been diagnosed with brain infection and they need Rs. 25 lakh for treatment. Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan and Pooja Bhatt provided financial aid to the actor’s family. On Wednesday, 4 November 2020, after a prolonged illness, Faraaz Khan passed away in Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru.
Facts/Trivia
- In 1989, Faraaz Khan was signed for the debut lead role in the musical-romance Maine Pyar Kiya; however, after he fell seriously ill before the shoot, he was replaced by Salman Khan. The movie turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office; establishing Salman Khan’s career in Bollywood.
- Apart from acting, Faraaz was also known for his melodious voice. In her tweet, Pooja Bhatt wrote,
