Gauthami Nair is an Indian actor, film director, neuroscientist, and psychologist. She played the role of Anupama in the Malayalam film ‘2018,’ which was India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

In 2012, while she was shooting for the Malayalam film ‘Second Show,’ she met the Indian filmmaker Srinath Rajendran. Soon, they became good friends. Later, they decided to get married. On 2 April 2017, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at a temple in Alappuzha. However, in 2017, she talked about her separation from her husband. She said that it was a mutual decision.

Psychologist
From December 2015 to January 2016, she worked as an intern at the psychology department of the Government Mental Health Center, Oolampara, Kerala. In April 2017, she joined the psychiatry department of the Government Medical College, Alappuzha, Kerala, as an intern. She interned there for two months. After completing her post-graduation, she worked as a research assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. She worked there from October 2019 to January 2020. She started working as a junior researcher at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Kerala, in March 2020. After around nine months, she was promoted to junior research fellow.
