Guy Raz an American correspondent, journalist, and radio host for National Public Radio and the co-creator of three programs: TED Radio Hour, How I Built This, and Wow in the World programs on NPR. Previously, Guy was a Jerusalem correspondent for CNN in 2004.

His first time to work as a radio host was as an intern for National Public Radio. He was a host for the news program ‘All Things Considered’. Later on, he got a promotion to working as a production assistant and also a news anchor. In 1997, Guy was also working as a freelance writer for the Washington City Paper. Additionally, he wrote for the Washington Post, and Christian Science Monitor. For the following year, Raz was a participant for the competition “reporter-trainees”.
During this time, she covered 2000 presidential primaries and the Doors song “Light My Fire”. Also, he reported as a RIAS Berlin fellow working as “Leitkultur”. After working as a producer, Raz was appointed a Berlin bureau chief. Guy did cover stories from Kosovo, Macedonia, and Afghanistan. Raz was appointed the London bureau chief in 2002 where covered stories in Europe and the Middle East. This was when he covered the Iraq war.

After several years working at NPR, Guy joined CNN. Raz was working as a Jerusalem correspondent. At this time, was when he covered the death of Yasser Arafat and the incapacitation of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. However, he came back to NPR with 2 years working for CNN. After coming back, he was working as a defense correspondent. After a few years, he became the host for the show “All Things Considered”. While hosting the show, he did a ‘cover story’ and ‘Three Minute Fiction’. Also, he was behind the weekly podcast production of the Show.
This was the first NPR newsmagazine to be a podcast. Later on, in 2009, he was the host of ‘Weekend All Things Considered’. However, he chose to step down in December 2012. This was due to the fact that he wanted to expand the TED Radio Hour. After joining TED Radio Hour, he was working as a host and editorial director in March 2013. However, he resigned from the post at the end of 2019.
After leaving the TED Radio Hour, he was working as a news analyst. He joined the Breakfast Blast Newscast on SiriusXM radio. This is where he got the name “Cokie Roberts for the 4-8-year-old crowd. Apart from working as a journalist, Guy has also worked as a Ferris Professor. He taught at Princeton University, Georgetown University, and George Washington University.
Guy Raz Podcast
He began a podcast in September 2016 about entrepreneurship. The podcast was on NPR and was known as How I Built This. The podcast is the top most downloaded in 2017. Later on, he created “Wow in the World” in May 2017. However, this was a co-created podcast with Mindy Thomas. Lately, he had been the host of Luminary Podcast. The podcast was known as “Wisdom from the Top”. It is a conversation between leaders and people on their corporations and organization.

Raz co-created the first-ever NPR’s first children’s program, Wow in the Wolrd in May 2017. Guy co-created the podcast alongside Mindy Thomas and also Tinkercats, a children’s production company. Additionally, Guy is known as the ‘Cokie Roberts for the 4-8- year-old crowd’ as the news analyst for the Breakfast Blast Newscast on Kids Place Live on SiriusXM radio. Raz and Mindy co-host the show, Wow in the World on NPR.
