Hirsh Vardhan Singh is an Indian-American politician and aeronautical engineer who announced his candidacy in 2023 for the 2024 United States Presidential election. He is the third person of Indian descent to run for President, following Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Engineer
After completing his engineering, Singh’s first professional experience was a four-month-long stint as a geographic information systems technician at the Burlington County Office of Emergency Management in 2003. Singh joined Hi-Tec Systems in 2004 as a Junior Network Administrator and worked his way up through the company, eventually becoming senior director of Operations in 2013. At Hi-Tec, he handled work related to the aerospace and defence industry. According to his work profile, he has provided cutting-edge engineering solutions to the Federal government in enhancing aviation safety and security of the National Aerospace System, implementing satellite navigation for the next generation of the Air Traffic Management System, National Missile Defence, and Military Intelligence and Communication System Development.

Hirsh participated in various elections as a Republican candidate, including the New Jersey Gubernatorial (governor) Elections, the USA Senate New Jersey, and the U.S. House New Jersey District 2. However, he lost in the primary election round in each of these elections. In 2017, Hirsh filed his nomination for the gubernatorial elections, for which the primary election was held in June 2017 where he stood third by receiving 9.76% votes.
In 2018, he participated in the General Election for U.S. House New Jersey District 2 in which he received 30% votes and lost to Seth Grossman with a margin of 3000+ votes in the primary elections. In 2020, he participated in the U.S. Senate election from New Jersey and stood second in the primary election.
In 2021, he again tried his luck in the New Jersey Gubernatorial Election but lost in the Primary Election as he received only 21.6% votes.
In July 2023, Hirsh announced his candidature for the U.S. Presidential Election 2024 as a Republican. He posted a video on a social media platform declaring his candidature and said,
We need strong leadership to reverse the changes that have occurred in the past few years and restore American values. That is why I have decided to seek the Republican Party’s nomination for the 2024 election for the office of president of the United States.”
