Ivana made a debut in the Malayalam film industry as a child actress by working in the action thriller film Masters (2012).

After this, she appeared in the film Rani Padmini (2015) in which she played the role of young Rani.
In 2016, she played the role of Anu Raghu, the daughter of the lead character in the film Anuraga Karikkin Vellam. In 2022, she appeared in the film Bhayankaram. She played the role of Diya in the film.

In 2018, she made a debut in the Tamil film industry by playing the role of Kottaiarasi (Arasi) in the film Naachiyaar (2018).

- The director Bala of the Tamil film industry read an article about the Malayalam film Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016) in the newspaper and decided to cast Ivana in his Tamil film Naachiyaar (2018). That’s how Ivana got the chance to enter into the Tamil film industry.
- The actress Ivana changed her real name from Aleena Shaji to Ivana at the request of the Tamil director Bala who wanted to cast her in the Tamil film Naachiyaar (2018). Bala wanted her to choose a name that would be easier for the Tamil audiences to pronounce and then she choose Ivana.
- To bring perfection to her role of Kottaiarasi (Arasi) in the Tamil film Naachiyaar (2018), she undertook Tamil classes to bring fluency in speaking Tamil.
