Jean Currivan Trebek is an entrepreneur and blogger who is best known for being the wife of Alex Trebek, a Canadian-American game show host who died on November 8, 2020.

Wiki/Biography

Jean Currivan Trebek was born on Sunday, September 8, 1963 (age 57 years; as of 2020), and she hails from Greenlawn, New York. She grew up on the East Coast, Long Island, along with her siblings. Jean’s brother, Chris Currivan, was born with Hydrocephalus, a medical condition in which extra fluid puts pressure on the brain, hence, he had some developmental delays. During her childhood days, Jean was a responsible child who looked after her brother. In an interview, she said,

We went to school together, and I promised my parents that I would watch out for him. Sometimes I would even leave my classroom to go check on him. I took care of my brother, and it felt like a gift rather than a burden. Other kids might have resented that responsibility. I thought it was a blessing. “

She did her schooling at Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, and later, she attended Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California. Before moving to Los Angeles, she worked as a real estate project manager on Long Island. After completing her formal education, she pursued a part-time job as a bookkeeper, where she worked for a business-executive friend of Alex Trebek. In an interview, she said,

Alex was my boss’s buddy. He’d come over every Saturday to play backgammon and have lunch. I knew that he was on some TV show, but he never said much about it and I didn’t ask.”

In 1988, they made the acquaintance at a party, which led to Alex inviting Jean to his home for dinner. In 1989, on Jean’s 26th birthday, Trebek gave her some pants and a jacket as a present, but later, he told her that there was something else as well. He pulled out a box and proposed with a 16-carat sapphire ring.
