Jitendra Patwari is an Indian politician and activist. He is a member of the Indian National Congress. He is the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Rau Vidhan Sabha in Madhya Pradesh from 2018 to 2023.

Jitendra Patwari was born on Monday, 19 November 1973 (age 50 years; as of 2023) in Bijalpur, a small town near Indore. His zodiac sign is Scorpio. He pursued his schooling at Government Multi Malhar Ashram Higher Secondary School, Indore. He pursued a bachelor’s degree in Arts at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. He completed his LLB at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore in 1997.

Politics

In 2013, Jitu Patwari contested in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election as an Indian National Congress candidate from the Rau constituency and won against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Jeetu Jirati with a margin of 18,559 votes. In 2018, he contested the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections from the Rau constituency and won against the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Madhu Verma with a margin of 5,703 votes.

In December 2018, he was appointed as the Cabinet Minister of Higher Education, Youth and Sports Affairs in the Government of Madhya Pradesh; however, he resigned in March 2020 because of the 2020 Madhya Pradesh political crisis. In 2018, he was also appointed as the working president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress. On 1 April 2020, he became the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Media Cell. In 2023, he again contested the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Election from the Rau constituency but lost. On 16 December 2023, he was appointed as the president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress.
