Kamal Sadanah is an Indian actor, producer, and director. He is the son of the popular Indian filmmaker Brij Sadanah. The actor lost his entire family on his 20th birthday after his father shot himself after killing his mother and sister.

His mother, Sayeeda Khan, was an Indian actress. She was shot by her husband on 21 October 1990.
He had a sister, Namrata Sadanah, who was also an actress. She was shot by her father on 21 October 1990.

Film
Kamal Sadanah made his acting debut with the film “Bekhudi” in 1992, opposite Kajol; however, the film didn’t perform well at the box office.
The actor got immense success with his next film “Rang” (1993) in which he played a lead role along with the late actress Divya Bharti.
In 2005, he acted in the film “Karkash.” He played the role of a villain in the film “Victoria No. 203: Diamonds Are Forever” (2007); he also produced the film. In 2022, he appeared in the film “Salaam Venky” along with his debut film co-star Kajol after a long gap of 15 years. Some of his famous films include “Fauj” (1994), “Jai Maa Vaishnav Devi” (1995), “Angaara” (1996), and “Mohabbat Aur Jung” (1998).

In 2006, Kamal Sadanah played the role of Mohan Khandelwal in the TV serial “Kasamh Se,” which aired on Zee TV.
Director
He made his directorial debut with the film “Karkash” in 2005, starring himself, Suchitra Pillai, and Anup Soni. In 2014, he directed another film “Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans.”
Producer
Kamal Sadanah had started handling the production department of his father’s production house by the age of 20. He made his debut as a producer with the film “C.I.D” in 1990, starring Vinod Khanna. In 2007, he produced the film “Victoria No. 203: Diamonds Are Forever,” which was a remake of his father’s film with the same title.
Facts/Trivia
- On 21 October 1990, Kamal’s father, Brij Sadanah, committed suicide after shooting his wife and daughter dead with his licenced gun. In an interview, Kamal revealed that his parents used to fight regularly, and they had a quarrel that morning too. He said,
Mom and dad had had an argument on the morning of my birthday. By the evening, Dad had consumed more than his share of alcohol. I left with my friends for my birthday celebrations. We came back to the bungalow a little after midnight and were hanging out in my room. On hearing gunshots, we all came running down.”
- Film producer Chander Sadanah is Kamal Sadanah’s uncle, and the Indian actresses Jyothika and Nagma (Chander Sadanah’s daughters) are his cousins.
- After his parent’s and sister’s death, he used to live in his bungalow with a staff of 15 members.
