Kiran Bhatt is an Indian actor, director, and producer, who has mainly worked in the Gujarati entertainment industry. He gained immense popularity for playing the role of ‘Nattu Kaka’ (new) in the popular Hindi sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (2008).

Career

Kiran started his career as a theatre artist. He has played small roles in various Hindi films like ‘Rangeela’ (1995) and ‘Satya’ (1998). He has also acted in the famous Hindi daily soap ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ (2000) aired on Star Plus. In the show, he played the role of Ketki Dave. In 2022, he appeared in the SAB TV sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ as the new Nattu Kaka which was earlier played by the Indian actor Ghanshyam Nayak. After the demise of Nayak, the role of Nattu Kaka was offered to Kiran in 2022. Ghanshyam and Kiran had worked together in various drama shows. Apart from acting, Kiran has also produced and directed various Gujarati theatre plays. He directed the Gujarati play ‘Sagpan Tane Saal Mubarak’ in 2022.

    It’s almost like the old Nattu Kaka is bringing in the new Nattu Kaka and I am glad to be doing the role of my dear friend Ghanshyam. It is a very emotional role for me and I hope to do justice to the role Ghanshyam excelled in, ever since the beginning.”

  • In an episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the producer of the show Asit Modi introduced him to the audience. Asit Said,

    Recently as we inaugurated the new showroom of Gada Electronics, it still did not feel complete and something was missing. We had to bring Nattu Kaka back. The love that we have been showered with ever since we began in 2008 is immense and we hope that the audience embraces Nattu Kaka as he is all set to return to Jethalal’s newly inaugurated store.”
