Maha Siddiqui was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. From 1985 to 1996, she studied at St Agnes’ Loreto High School, Lucknow, and from 1996 to 1998, at La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow. In 2002, she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Botany Honours at Miranda House College, New Delhi, and in 2003, a PG diploma in English Journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi. In 2007, she was bestowed with the Chevening Scholarship in Broadcast Journalism at the Bournemouth University Poole, England. Later, she was selected for a 2-week course on United States Foreign Policy.

Career
Journalism
In 2003, she started her career as an online senior copy editor at The Times of India, New Delhi. In November 2003, she joined DD News as a correspondent anchor; she worked at DD News for four years. During her sting at DD News, she covered politics, sports, and foreign affairs, and anchored in some prime shows as well.
In January 2008, Maha joined NewsX as a senior correspondent anchor which was a new channel at that time. She shared her experience at NewsX in an interview and said,
I was excited about being part of a team that would help launch a new channel. Unfortunately, the channel saw many ups and downs by way of management changes but nonetheless, it was a risk I was willing to take early in my career. I was suddenly exposed to the fragility of a private news set-up coming from a public broadcaster and by way of personal and professional experience, it did not prove to be a disaster. In fact, it was a great learning.”
In 2010, Maha started working as a senior special correspondent- Anchor at TV Today Network in Noida. She reported on foreign affairs and covered important issues such as the droughts in Maharashtra (2012), the misappropriation of funds in the Bundelkhand package (2013), and elections. She was one of the few women journalists to have reported and anchored live during the Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013 under extremely challenging and tense circumstances.
After working for 6 years in India Today, Maha joined CNN News18 as an Editor of Foreign Affairs & Anchor; she hosted a prime-time show World 360 at CNN News18.
In 2022, Siddiqui joined NDTV as a senior editor of foreign affairs & senior anchor where she hosts the programs ‘Left Right and Centre’ and ‘Indian Global’ at NDTV. Maha Siddiqui covered a wide range of important topics, including the Kartarpur Corridor, the SCO Summit 2022, the G20 Summit, and Narendra Modi‘s visit to the in June 2023.
