Mahant Balaknath Yogi was born on Monday, 16 April 1984 (age 39 years; as of 2023) in the Kohrana village in the Behror tehsil in Rajasthan. His zodiac sign is Aries. Mahant Balaknath’s father, Subash, was an ardent follower of Mahant Khetanath who named Mahant Balaknath “Gurmukh” at birth. Mahant Balaknath’s father served Baba Khetanath in the Baba Khetanath Ashram of Neemrana and gave his word to the guru that his son’s life would be dedicated to him. At the age of 6, Mahant Balaknath was handed over by his family to Mahant Khetanath Ashram of Neemrana. After 6 months at the ashram, he was sent to Asthal Bohar Rohtak, where he was named Balaknath because of his childish playfulness. Balaknath followed the Guru’s instructions, performed severe penance, sadhana, worked in the monastery, studied the customs of the Nath sect, and carried out his duty of serving at numerous ashrams around the nation.
On 29 July 2016, Baba Balaknath was declared the eighth successor of Asthal Bohar in the presence of Brahman Mahant Chand Nath Yogi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Baba Ramdev and many renowned saints from across the country. On 17 September 2017, Mahant Chandnath passed away due to prolonged sickness after which Mahant Balaknath Yogi became the eighth successor of Asthal Bohar, the largest monastery of the Nath sect. He also became the chancellor of Baba Mastnath University.

Mahant Balaknath’s political journey was influenced and mentored by his Guru, Mahant Chandnath, a former Member of Parliament from Alwar and throughout his political journey, he was also mentored by Baba Ramdev. In 2019, he contested the Lok Sabha elections on a ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party and won. He defeated his opponent, Bhanwar Jitendra Singh of the Indian National Congress, by a margin of 3 Lakh votes.
In 2023, Mahant Balaknath contested the Rajasthan assembly elections as a BJP candidate from the Tijri constituency and won. Mahant Balaknath defeated the Congress candidate Imran Khan by a margin of 6,173 votes. He resigned as a member of the Lok Sabha in December 2023.

In November 2023, Congress alleged that Mahant Balaknath purchased land worth Rs 52. Crores in Canada through Hawala payment. During an interview, when Mahant Balaknath was asked about it, he denied all the allegations and claimed that the Congress party was only trying to create a distraction. He said,
The Congress is scared of BJP’s public support in Tijara. The party wants to divert from the issue of misgovernance and terrorism by making false allegations without any proof.”
