Wedding Controversies Unveiled

Her wedding in 2006 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai brought her into the public eye. Despite being a widely watched event, her father, Dawood Ibrahim, reportedly did not attend. The media reports revealed that about 500 guests were present, but specific details about them were not disclosed. The Grand Hyatt Hotel had strict security measures, and the security personnel instructed journalists and photographers to keep a distance from the main venue during the wedding. According to media reports, Dawood Ibrahim was said to have used a Pakistani passport to travel to Saudi Arabia for Mahrukh’s wedding. His plan was to attend the reception in Dubai using the fake identity Ali Miyan, which he allegedly uses for travel between Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Dawood intended to stay at a farm near Dubai for the reception. However, the arrest of a sharpshooter associated with the rival Chhota Rajan gang, Vicky Malhotra, in Delhi, along with a retired intelligence officer, raised concerns about a potential joint intelligence-mafia operation, prompting Dawood to be alert. The means by which he reached the wedding venue in Mecca remained uncertain. There were reports of a group of women in burkhas at the Mecca mosque, but their identities could not be confirmed. Later, speculation arose that one of them might have been Dawood himself. After the wedding, a few media sources contacted Javed Miandad in Pakistan. During the conversation, a media representative asked him if Dawood Ibrahim had attended the ‘nikaah,’ and Miandad’s reply was, “Everyone was present.”
