Mallika completed her primary and secondary education at The Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, India. Mallika enrolled for a journalism course at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi, which she dropped out of after one week. Later she got into Hindu College, Delhi University, and dropped out after one year. Mallika Dua moved abroad to pursue her major in theatre at the Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. Mallika Dua is settled in Mumbai, India.

Mallika Dua’s father, Vinod Dua, was a renowned journalist at Doordarshan and NDTV. He was the recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri (2008) for his contribution to the field of literature and education. Vinod Dua passed away on 4 December 2021 after getting infected by the COVID-19 virus. Mallika Dua’s mother, Padmavati Dua (also known as ‘Chinna Dua’), was a radiologist and a social media influencer. She passed away on 11 June 2021 in Delhi after suffering from the COVID-19 virus. Mallika Dua has an elder sister named Bakul Dua, who is a clinical psychologist.

In 2016, Mallika Dua was cast in ‘Girliyapa,’ which is India’s leading women centric channel for entertainment. Mallika starred in the initial episodes of the series of the same name. Mallika Dua started her own YouTube channel in 2017 and started collaborating with the famous YouTube channel ‘All India Bakchod’ (AIB) until the channel got suspended in 2018.

In 2018, Mallika Dua got into a feud with actor, Akshay Kumar as the actor was accused of passing a sexual remark at Mallika during the shoot of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. During Akshay Kumar’s film, Pad Man’s promotions, the actor encouraged the entire Bollywood industry to hold up and sanitary napkin and click a photo of the same. Mallika Dua took to Instagram and was quoted saying,
Always remember. Each time you feel weak, each time you feel lesser than your equals, each time you feel you’ve been made to feel lesser for no reason and that the fight has just about begun, when you feel society and the govt have not given you your due, hold up a sanitary pad and post a picture of it on Instagram.
