Manushi Chillar was born in Sonipat, Haryana, India.

Parents & Siblings

She lives with her parents, sister Dewangana Chiller who is pursuing LLB and one younger brother Dalmitra Chiller. Her father Dr Mitra Basu Chhillar is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation and her mother Dr Neelam Chhillar is an associate professor and department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

In an interview with ‘Times of India’, she said that the most influential person in her life is her mother who has supported her throughout her journey and added ”Her infinite love, passion, courage, and determination to achieve her goals always keeps me going. Her gentle heart yet bold personality inspires me to be compassionate and ambitious.”

In 2021, she started dating Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath; however, in 2023, reports of their separation surfaced.

Career

Manushi was always fascinated by modelling and used to participate in modelling competitions during her school and college days. She has also won many beauty pageants during her school days.

In the year 2014, she represented India in a cultural exchange program held in Japan. On 25 June 2017, she took part in the Femina Miss India 2017 and represented the state of Haryana. During the competition, she was also crowned Miss Photogenic title in sub-contests.

On 18 November 2017, she won 54th Miss World 2017 contest and was crowned by Miss World 2016 Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle.

Apart from modelling, she was also associated with the purposed project namely ‘Project Shakti’ through which she spread awareness about menstrual hygiene. For this project, she visited about 20 villages and treated more than 5000 women.

Manushi Chillar has appeared in an ad commercial alongside Ranveer Singh.
