She joined KYTV, the NBC affiliate in Springfield as a reporter and 5 p.m. anchor after her graduation. During her time in the Ozarks, she covered the EF-5 tornado that hit nearby Joplin, Mo. Marie is a winner of a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her reports on a veteran who committed suicide after his case was mishandled at a regional VA hospital.

She joined the team at our Dallas/Fort Worth ABC affiliate in August 2013 after graduating from the University of Missouri – Columbia. marie began her career in Springfield, Missouri, prior to moving to Phoenix, Arizona. In her departing post, she says that she has the chance to serve much closer to home, the Chicago area.
When she was asked, about her interests, she said that her interest is in telling a story that will make the viewer feel. That runs the gamut from hard news to uplifting stories. Marie was in downtown Dallas the night that five officers were killed in an ambush, and looking back, she values being there as well as bringing information to a community looking for answers and understanding.
Marie also loves the chance to meet a character or a special family as well as share what makes them someone you should know while putting a smile on your face. Personally, her interests include a good laugh, great meals, and travel! she loves seeing Broadway shows when touring companies stop in North Texas, and an afternoon museum-hopping in Fort Worth is always a treat. She had revealed that she landed at CBS Chicago, her hometown.
