Mayank Dixit is an Indian casting director and an acting coach. He is known for his work in the film ‘Poorna – Courage Has No Limit’ (2017). In July 2023, he was severely beaten by some unknown persons, after they caught into an ugly fight over parking.

Mayank Dixit was born on Saturday, 11 January 1986 (age 37 years; as of 2023) in New Delhi. He did his schooling at Guru Harkrishan Public School, New Delhi. He pursued BA in Journalism and Mass Communication at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Pitampura, New Delhi. He pursued a diploma in theatre acting. Later, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the Hindi film industry.

Career
Assistant Director
Mayank Dixit started his career as an assistant director with the 2008 Bollywood film ‘Yuvvraaj.’ He worked as an additional assistant director for the film ‘Aisha’ (2010). He assisted the film director Manoj Tiwari in ‘Hello Darling’ (2010). In 2012, he worked as second assistant director for the film ‘Gattu’ and ‘Challo Driver.’
Casting Director
In 2012, he worked as a casting director for the film ‘Gattu.’ The film was honoured at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival with a special mention under the category of “Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk.” In 2014, he worked as a casting director for the film ‘Kaanchi,’ starring Kartik Aryan. He rose to fame after he cast Aditi Inamdar for the titular role in the film ‘Poorna – Courage Has No Limit’ (2017).
He has worked as a casting director for a few more films such as ‘Bollywood Diaries’ (2016), ’22 Yards’ (2019), ‘Jhalki’ (2019), ‘Harami’ (2020), ‘Morjim’ (2022), and ‘Mother Teresa & Me’ (2022).
In addition to films, he has also worked as a casting director for various TV commercials including Paytm First Games, Kellogg’s Chocos, and Voot Kids.
Acting Workshop Director
In 2019, he worked as an acting workshop director for the biographical film ‘Birsa Munda,’ where taught acting to hundreds of tribal people who worked as background artists in the film.
The following year, he conducted acting workshops for children who appeared in the film ‘Torbaaz’ (2020), starring Sanjay Dutt.
Controversy
Caught into a fight
On 2 July 2023, Mayank Dixit got into an ugly fight with some unknown persons. The incident took place when Dixit was returning to his home in a cab in New Delhi. Allegedly, an unknown man engaged in an argument with his cab driver over reversing the vehicle after which the driver left the site. The man later abused the director and got into a fight with him. As the argument got worse, the man gathered two or three other people and they all attacked Mayank and left him half dead. Mayank suffered some major injuries on his neck and head. He was first taken to Kailash Hospital but later the doctors shifted him to the AIIMS trauma centre where he was kept under observation. However, later a case was registered against the accused under sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
