After completing her formal education, she started working at a global consulting firm named PwC in Japan. After working there for a year, she quit her job there and joined a startup IT firm as a business development executive.

In 2017, while she was working there, she started writing blogs on Indian culture and Japanese culture. In the same year, she started her self-titled YouTube channel on which she uploaded videos related to her blogs. She also uploaded Indian food videos and Indian culture videos on her channel.
She then started another YouTube channel on which she uploaded videos on Japanese and Hindi language tutorials. Gradually, her videos started getting millions of views. Later, Mayo uploaded dance videos on various Bollywood songs along with a few Indian and Japanese celebrities. She has around 2.84 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
